The boys over at LayTheOdds.com are throwing a party today, and everyone’s invited!
Over at LayTheOdds Towers they’ve gathered together a whole host of industry ‘names’ – bloggers, experts, gurus, website owners, betting systems sellers, marketing types, however you want to label them – and persuaded them all to give something away to their followers.
You’ll find me amongst those giving away free stuff too.
There’s a sizeable bunch of free trials, guides, software and betting systems up for grabs, and all it will cost you to get into the party is your email address.
Once you get inside, you’ll be confronted with a web page akin to a Debenhams shop window at Christmas. Lot’s of shiny, sparkling banners. Perfect for a party. Just dive straight in and grab whatever takes your eye.

What do you think of it all?
These kind of ‘giveaway’ events have been around for some while now, and they’re popular with online marketers as an effective way to gather new sales leads. And let’s be clear, that is the primary reason you’re invited to the party today – to give up your email address.
But it’s no bad thing, and besides, you get to take advantage of all the free gifts.

I was involved with organising a similar event about three years ago (read what people had to say about it back then) and nearly 20,000 people showed up for that party. In fact I had to open the patio doors and let people spill into the garden!
Seriously, it was fairly well received.
Sergio Leone said it all. The Good The Bad and The Ugly. I shall take some of the info to heart. I’ve been too gullible in the past, so it was informative and an excellent idea.

But I’d like to know what you think about today’s event….
- Are you getting value for handing over your email address?
- What do you think of the line-up… quite a few new faces I don’t recognise?
- Are you concerned about getting a deluge of email sales messages?
- What’s the best free gift on offer?
- Is there anything on offer you wouldn’t bother with?
For my part, I’m happy to see a good number of people in the line up I know you’ll be able to trust with your personal details (check out my list of people to listen to in 2010). When you get involved with these chaps, as well as the freebie you pick up today, you can expect a good deal of sensible, valuable betting advice to follow as well.
So head on over to LayTheOdds.com and fill yer boots but then please take the time to leave a comment below, or start a conversation over at Facebook
