Guidelines For Guest Writers
I regularly receive emails asking if I accept guest posts at SkyBlueKangaroo, and if ‘yes’ what are the guidelines. Eventually it struck me as a sensible idea if I wrote a Guidelines post and referred everybody here.
So the answer to the first question is Yes, I do accept guest posts and I have outlined my guidelines below if you would like to contribute to my blog.
Anything that informs my readers, or solves a problem for them, is good content for a guest post here. It can be related to horse racing, betting, betting systems, making your betting pay, or other similar but closely related topics. It can also be derived from your own personal experiences.
There is no minimum length for your post, but usually the guest posts are between 300-600 words.
Guidelines
Your post MUST be your own original work and must have never been published before on the Internet. It MUST be exclusive to this site (a copy of an article you have written and published previously on another site is not acceptable). Sorry to labour the point, but duplicated content is not looked upon favourably by our friends at Google.
You agree to not publish the post anywhere else (ie, in your own blog or as a guest post in other blogs).
The post should not be a blatant sales pitch, nor overly self-promoting. You can include up to two links in the postscript, which will be displayed at the bottom of the post. Give freely in the body of the content, and take in the postscript.
You cannot use SEO’d anchor text for your links.
You will also receive a link from my home page as a listed guest writer.
How do I submit my guest post?
If you have a post that meets the guidelines above, you can send it to me at paul AT skybluekanngaroo DOT com. I will usually reply within 48 hours stating if I will accept the guest post or not. If your post meets with the guidelines above, it is not likely it will be rejected. But if it is, please do not take it personally, and you are obviously free to use it in your own blog or to propose it as a guest post to some other website.
I look forward to hearing from you.
