I’ve been running a survey, to ask what you want to read and see more of on this blog. “More free stuff, Paul!” particularly betting systems, has been one of the most common requests. And so today, just like the bus that comes around the corner the very moment you arrive at the bus stop, I have news of a ‘giveaway’ event you may well want to pay a visit.

BettingSystemGiveaway.com does pretty much what it says on the tin – it’s giving away free betting systems…. and other cool stuff as well, as it happens.

There’s no such thing as a mid-day meal you don’t have to pay for… granted. However, there is nothing for sale here, and you will not be asked to get your wallet out. But, although the video says there is “no hidden agenda” the fact is you will have to give away something of value, namely your email address, before you can get to the goodies. You can fully expect that once you have your free gift, you will receive further messages from the various contributors. I doubt very much that anyone will abuse your trust, because I’ve been told that only truly respected marketers have been allowed to participate (and I can personally vouch for most of the names you will find, several of which are listed in my ’10 people to follow in 2010′ post back in January).

But here’s my advice, if at any time in the near future you feel like someone is only sending you sales messages, and basically just trying to sell you stuff whenever you hear from them, then ‘unsubscribe’ from that mailing list, or put the offending email address in your ‘blocked senders’ list, or both.

I promote products and services from time to time. Sure. I will encourage you to spend some money and invest in a service or product I feel will provide you with value, every now and then. But those messages are always in the minority, and in fact I generally try to balance at least four or five emails with free content, to every marketing message.

Enough about email management, you are all big enough and ugly enough to look after your own inbox!

OK, on to Part Two of today’s post. Why have I been neglecting this blog of late, and what have I been up to recently?

In a word, well three words to be exact…. Horse Racing Trends

I have finally decided to launch my own racing service, and it went ‘live’ last Thursday. As the name suggests, the service is based upon the analysis of trends to highlight winners. Amid a small amount of pomp and circumstance the doors opened on Thursday lunch-time, and just four days later it had SOLD OUT!

I limited the number of members to 300 hundred and was startled after more than two hundred people paid their money within the first few hours! Over the course of the week end people were joining in dribs and drabs, and member #300 subscribed on Monday evening. And so the curtain came down on a sell-out show.

So it’s been a bit of a roller-coaster last fortnight, but normal service will now be resumed here at SkyBlueKangaroo with the regular flow of horse racing and betting related content.

Big Al was getting excited and thought he was going to go the full test with a 100% record, but was just foiled with the last selection winning.

It should be pointed out that all prices are to SP and NOT Betfair odds. The profit amounted to 30.5 points.

These are pretty impressive results BUT a word of caution…. most of the jumps selections have been running on ground worse than soft. Improving ground conditions may result in not such a good return as this.

Big Al told me he found that placing the lay bets had to be done just prior to the ‘off’ to take into account non-runners and flip-flopping favourites.

What do I think? Well, before you all rush off to lay any horses that meet with the criteria laid out above, I would reiterate Big Al’s observation that the current soft ground may have had a big influence on the figures. But there is no denying the results are good. I think it would be prudent to paper-trade this system for a couple of months, before making any decision to start laying at minimum stakes. What would also be interesting would be to make a note of the going against each result. Subsequent analysis of the results and profits returned over various ground conditions could indicate whether extremes of going improves the profitability.

At the very least you may have a system to keep on the back burner, that you can wheel out when the rains come and the ground gets soft or heavy.
